Cuba Partnership Trip Update
by Ken Lasseter, Cuba Partnership Team
The Cuba Partnership Team is leading a trip to Cuba March 12 through 20. There are 31 people from Central Florida signed on for this trip. We will visit the Presbyterian Churches in the Central Presbytery of Cuba, bringing medicines and other much-needed supplies. We will see old friends and give support to their churches.
Our mission supports 2 major projects. One project is transportation. Cars are scarce and most pastors don’t have one. The Cuban Presbytery has an old American School Bus which needs a lot of maintenance. The bus is important for bringing people together throughout the Presbytery. The other project is Lay Leadership Training. By helping to bring church leaders together, helping them to buy training material, plan workshops, and buy supplies, we strengthen their churches and congregations. Economic conditions are the worse they have been in Cuba since the Russians left in the early 1990s. By supporting the Cuban mission, you are helping the Cuban churches to survive.
You can help support these 2 projects by making a contribution from your church’s foreign missions’ budget. Send your check to the Central Florida Presbytery’s office marked for one or both of these projects.
The Cuba Partnership Team thanks you for your support of this mission.
